Arcadia is a learning center for preschool and kindergarten children.
Special materials, including the Montessori materials, are provided to
accommodate the mental and physical needs and abilities of young
children. Arcadia is a relaxed and friendly place where children are
encouraged, loved and respected as individuals. Our goals are to kindle
interests, develop basic skills and to have the children enjoy their
learning experience.
The underlying philosophy of the Montessori System of education is
recognition of the fact that no human being is educated by anyone else.
Children must do it themselves, and given proper conditions and the
right environment they prefer educating themselves.

The purposes of the Montessori materials are:
- First, to stimulate children's natural desire to act and learn through action;Our Montessori Ideal
- Second, to provide them with action which shall give them better control of their own bodies and will-power
- Third, to assist them to use this improved control which
shall lead them naturally from a simple action to a more difficult one.
The classrooms of our center are divided into interest areas with
special materials and equipment provided for a creative learning
environment. These materials are added to and changed throughout the
year.
